Parking In Louisville

Louisville is the most populous city in Kentucky. It is known for being the homeland of KFC, the Kentucky Derby and Muhammad Ali. It’s a city where many important events take place and where you’ll always find a way to pass the time. There are plenty of lots and garages in the downtown area, and the following information should be quite useful when parking your vehicle.

The city’s on-street meter parking is quite abundant. It’s an optimal way of parking for short periods of time. On the other hand, if you’re planning on parking for more than a couple of hours, a surface lot or a garage would be the more suitable option. Meters cost between $1.25-$1.50/hour and are enforced from 7AM to 6PM, Mon-Sat. They accept coins and SmartCards. Certain areas have newly-installed IPS meters which can also accept credit cards as payment. There is, however, a maximum stay limit of up to 4 hours, so make sure you don’t forget to move your car after your time ran out.

For those who prefer off-street parking, rates are around $2 per hour and 24 hour rate can be as low as $6-$10.

Our parking maps will help you to find parking at the location that you need, whether you’re interested in the University of Louisville Hospital, Riverside parking (Marking Street Garage) or the KFC Yum! Center.
