Parking at Honolulu International Airport (HNL)
Public parking at HNL is available in several parking garages and lots.
Parking is limited in both the Interisland (M) and Commuter Terminal (B) lots. On holiday weekends these lots are traditionally full between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. When these lots are full, travelers may park in the International (A) or Overseas (D) Garages.
The Interisland Parking Garage is located adjacent to the Interisland Terminal. Enter from either the ground or second level airport access road.
The Interisland Garage is seven stories tall and has a total of 1,787 parking spaces available. The lot is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a 30-day parking limit.
If the lot is full, drivers may go to the top level where a bridge to the International Parking Garage is located. A total of 1,800 spaces are available in the International garage.
The Commuter Parking lot is located adjacent to the Commuter Terminal. Enter from Aolele Street or the main airport access road to the right of the Interisland Terminal. The lot has a total of 434 parking spaces available. The lot is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a 30-day parking llimit.
The International Parking Garage is located directly across from the International Arrivals Building. Enter the structure from the ground level of the Airport Access Road or from a vehicle bridge on the top level of the Interisland Terminal.
The International Garage is eight stories tall and has a total of 1,800 parking spaces available. There is a 30-day parking limit. The garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A walkway to the Interisland Terminal is available on the top level of the structure. Passenger access to International Arrivals or the Overseas Terminal is available on the ground level of the structure.
The Overseas Parking Garage is located directly across from the Overseas Terminal. Enter the structure from the second level of the Airport Access Road directly across from the Administration Tower.
The Overseas Garage is five stories tall and has a total of 1,570 parking spaces available. There is a 30-day parking limit. The garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Walkways are available on the fourth level of the parking garage at both ends and in the middle for passenger access to the Main Terminal. Passenger access is also available on the ground level at the same locations.
HNL also offers an Economy Lot (J) for travelers who leave their vehicles at the airport for two or more days at a cost of $10 per 24 hours or fraction thereof, and a minimum charge of $20.
The Economy Lot is located just Diamond Head of the airport Lei Stands. Simply follow directional signs to the Lei Stands and turn right into the driveway marked Economy Lot.
The Economy Lot is a fully automated lot with a pay station located in the middle of the lot.
A valet parking service is also available on the 4th floor of the Interisland Terminal Parking Lot for those who are in a hurry.
Drivers waiting to pick up arriving passengers may wait in the Cellular Telephone Waiting areas. Two cell phone waiting areas are available to make it convenient for those picking up arriving passengers: the Diamond Head Cell Phone Area, located on Aolele Street, and the Ewa Cell Phone Waiting Area, located on Service Road A near the Airport Post Office (intersection of Nimitz Highway and Aolele Street) and just a few minutes away from the airport terminal. When your passengers have retrieved their luggage, exited the baggage claim area, and are waiting at the curb they can call you on your cell phone and you may proceed directly to curbside pickup. This will keep you from having to drive around and around the terminal while waiting for them.
The Cell Phone Waiting area is a first-come, first-served lot. There is a maximum waiting time of 60 minutes. The driver must stay inside their vehicle while waiting. Unattended vehicles will be cited and towed. No commercial vehicles are permitted.
Automatic ticket dispensers issue parking tickets at the entrance to each parking area. Present the ticket to the cashier as you exit. To expedite your exit, please have your ticket, cash or credit card ready.
HNL offers courtesy parking for bicycles at four ground level locations:
- South of Baggage Claim Area A
- International Parking Structure – in the vicinity of the elevators
- Overseas Parking Structure – East end
- Overseas Parking Structure – West end
There is currently no charge for using bicycle racks.
