Use this parking structure to visit Grand Park around 7 pm. We were not able to pay for 1 hour because apparently they only did glad rate $12 even though there was signage stating you could pay for 15min intervals. We paid, the attendant handed us a ticket, and wrote the number 12 on the back. He then told us to park near another attendant and instructed us to leave our keys with him. When we returned and my husband went to get the car keys that attendant who took our money and gave us our ticket told us that they didn’t use those tickets at that garage and would not give us our keys. My husband then told the attendant that we parked our car less than an hour ago and that he wrote the number 12. The attendant finally remembered but then couldn’t find our keys. We finally got our keys and left. The attendants working tonight have no system in place .

Parking in Los Angeles

Though it might seem like there would be plenty of lots, garages or on-street parking spaces in Los Angeles, finding an empty spot can be a real challenge. Please take a look at our maps and consider the following tips for LA parking to improve your chances of finding that desired spot!

Prices for metered street parking in Los Angeles vary from $0.50 up to $6.00 per hour depending on the time of day (higher prices are charged during the busiest hours in the afternoon). LADOT has implemented a demand-based pricing program in downtown Los Angeles where street blocks with the highest demand for parking charge higher fees than the blocks with a lower demand for parking (LADOT uses parking sensors to find which blocks are the busiest). You can check the rates and parking availability on the LA Express Park website.

There’s also plenty of off-street parking in LA city. Lots normally charge $2 for 15 mins with a maximum of $40 per 24 hours.

It might be difficult to find parking around the busiest locations in LA. Check our detailed maps if you have trouble finding parking at

As a rule of thumb, always check for signs indicating prohibited or restricted parking. These are marked as colored curbs or parking signs. If you were unlucky enough to get a parking ticket, but think you parked correctly, check back with LADOT for information regarding paying or appealing a parking ticket.
