They still do this, says "Free Passage :)" then they make you have a ticket to leave. If you press the assistance, they hang up on you, even if you do it multiple times, total scam to get parking fees out of you.

They leave the gate open at night and early morning and it shows free passage this is an issue when you’re trying to get out later in the day they ask for lost ticket fee. Why are they doing this??? Also there is a guy who spends every night in his car at parking lot since it’s free.

The rumors are true they will show you free passage sign when you enter then they will charge you lost ticket fee when you exit. Take pictures or demand ticket even when it’s free passage which is every morning and night. Also there is a guy that parks for free all night and just hangs in his car maybe that’s why they leave the gate open overnight which is night fair to people that pay to have safety.

The lady who “can’t give her name for harassment reasons” over the intercom at the Westfield topanga location was very unpleasant. This was at 4:56pm on 3/3/2023. Both of the machines on the top floor weren’t working and said “check out and pay at the exit.” Which made me literally 7 seconds late as I pulled up to exit. I explained the situation to avoid paying $4 since it was seconds later and because of broken machines and this lady was so rude and said the only way they can help me is to write a citation for my refusal to pay which I wasn’t stating I was doing. I was just hoping she would be understanding and helpful. She said she was the supervisor and even hung up on me saying other people might be calling in. She didn’t believe me when I said the machines were out which is really odd. Why would you not believe that? Go look at the machines if you don’t believe me. She was awful. Truly the rudest person for $4. So unpleasant for being 7 seconds late to the machine as I waited behind another car.

I came in on 1/28 and the gate showed free passage, when I left 73 mins later it required a ticket. I called for help, they insisted that I lost the ticket and made me pay the lost ticket. They threatened me that they were going to cite me, and that they had my license number. I asked them to review the camera which they wouldn't. I understand they didn't make the machines, but there is no need for the threats. If it shows free passage take a picture so it doesn't happen to you. They are trained not to believe the consumer.

Who ever runs this parking lot is the absolute worst. They are extremely rude, and unhelpful. I was down the street from picking up my child at school, and even left 15 minutes early. However their system wasn’t excepting customers tickets at the time. And instead of letting everyone out because it was an issue on their end, they played stupid games and held every car up for almost 30 minutes. This is extremely unnecessary and unacceptable. This has happened multiple times and now I will not be returning to this mall.

Went to exit this parking structure today and the gate wasnt responding. A rep spoke over the intercom saying the lane was closed because someone had reported nails in the lane. My wife hopped out of the car to look and the rep said they would look up our registration and there would be a $1200 fine if we touched the liftgate. What kind of a company threatens people like that? Westfield, please check that your parking service is respecting your customers before you loose them...

The gate gave me "free passage" so I drove through. After I parked, I walked back to get a ticket just in case I needed to show a ticket after I left. When I tried to get a ticket, however, it said "No vehicle detected" and the machine wouldn't give me a ticket. I tried to explain this to the operator when I left 2 hours later. He said I was lying and that all the machines were operational at the time. He hung up on me three different times. I tried explaining that I never received a ticket, but he said I needed to pay $14 because I "lost or misplaced the ticket". I asked to speak with him in person but he hung up on me again. The fact that he called me a liar, said I lost the ticket on multiple occasions, and hung up on me three different times means I'll never park in this structure again. Do yourself a favor -- skip the hassle and park across the street at the topanga mall.
