They charge $12 for parking in L18/ zone 4504/ Madison during mass hours at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sunday mornings. I was fined with $42 for parking in their spot for 30 minutes.

Says it’s a public parking garage but instead I was told it wasn’t and almost got arrested for no reason.

Parking in Tampa

There are 11,372 off-street spaces in both lots and garages and 2,097 on-street spaces in Tampa. Even with all these options, parking can sometimes be tricky in downtown, especially so during the holiday season.

Tampa is divided into five main districts that differ in terms of the parking rates charged:

  •  West Tampa, South Tampa, East Tampa, and North Tampa are predominantly residential areas with lots of free on-street parking available.
  • Ybor City – off-street lots charge on average $3.00 per 24 hours. On-street parking is free, but is restricted to a 2 hour maximum time limit.

The average hourly rate charged at lots and garages in downtown Tampa is $1.60 per hour and $12.00 per 24 hours. Monthly parking is available for $60 per month.

On-street parking in Tampa is enforced Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6pm. Meters in several areas have different hours of operation. Vehicles with a disabled placard can park for free for up to 4 hours. You must still introduce your license plate number at the parking meter, select the ‘disabled parking’ option and collect your receipt.

During your stay in the areas, you will probably visit the Channel District, the Port Authority, the Aquarium and of course Tampa International Airport, this is why we provide detailed parking maps for each of these locations.

To pay a parking citation, go to the City of Tampa Parking Division website.
