Horrible exit, waited way too long without movement, one attendant on flower day.

THE PARKING ATTENDANT AT THIS GARAGE WOULD NOT ACCEPT MY $5.00 CASH PAYMENT TO GET OUT OF THE PARKING DECK! THERE WAS NO SIGN INDICATING THAT THE GARAGE ONLY ACCEPTS CARDS. THE ATTENDANT WOULD NOT LET US OUT! THE ATTENDANT RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL. SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO & TURNED HIS BACK. HE KEPT SAYING WE HAD TO LEAVE THE LINE & THAT THE GATE IS NOT OPENING FOR US! THANK GOD THIS LADY OFFER TO PAY FOR US TO LET US OUT IF THAT GARAGE. SHE WAS A BLESSING IN THIS CHAOS! THE ATTENDANT NEEDS TO BE FIRED! ASAP! I WILL CALL & CONTACT ALL & EVERYONE REGARDING THIS INCIDENT!

This garage, despite having no one attending it, closes at 5pm on Saturdays with no warning. Your car will get stuck here until Monday morning. Calling the garage sends you almost immediately to a full voice mailbox. Avoid it like the plague

They do not follow the posted schedule and will lock your car in the facility overnight without warning. Avoid this parking garage.

Garage closes extremely early on weekends and will lock your car in until Monday. Phone is deactivated. Service intercoms are not operated. Avoid.

Very convenient and clean. The flat rate was convenient but I wish they would let you pay on the way in or prepay and have a paid receipt to leave. I tried to pay twice and then when I went to leave they couldn't figure out how to let us out afterwards.

Parking At Grand Circus Detroit

Perhaps unsurprisingly, parking options in the heart of the motor city are plentiful.

DISCLAIMER: This is being written by an early adopter (and a new-comer to the area).  Please, please, please pitch in with additional tips (what's parking like when the Tigers play? or the Lions? or the Bears? What about when the Detroit Opera has a show?  Does it vary between winter and summer?  Help your fellow users!)

The underground garage across the street is closest, perhaps warmest, but also possibly the most expensive ($15/day).  Note it is also where you'll likely end up if you are in a rush, i.e left later than you wanted to, didn't look/plan/call ahead, and if you're the type of person who just follows the "PARKING SIGNS".  Don't be that person.  That person is gullible, disorganized and impulsive.  If you are that person you will pay (literally) for your shortcomings.  Think of it like a casino (a tax on the poor), or... but I digress.  YOU are not that person (since you're on Parkopedia :-), i.e. you, my dear watson, are already a step ahead.  Keep reading for better options.

Various surface lots (cheaper, but you'll have to scrape your car if it snows, which it will) are your next closest option.  A solid free option (safety in numbers!) is the MGM grand parking structure, although it will add a bit of time to your commute (15 minutes walking, or 20 minutes waiting, walking, and riding the bus).  As an added bonus, you get some sunshine and a chance to take in some of the city's architecture.

Thanks for reading, park safe and park smart, and help out by writing/editing!
