BEWARE! 2 hours "free" parking applies only if you exit the garage before the 2 hours expire. If you exit after 2 hours they don't give you the discount for the first 2 hours. I spent a lot of money in Publix and Ross, but I was there for more than two hours (mostly because I spent half of this time in lines in both stores). At the exit they made me pay full price for 3 hours parking, instead of giving me the first two hours free, like Publix in Brickell or Trader Joe's do. I had all the receipts. Ridiculous! I was supposed to pay only for the 3rd hour, not for 3 full hours, because I'm a buyer there, not just parked and left. I know how this system works everywhere. This garage is a rip off. So, if you are planning to spend a lot of time shopping at this location you need to make sure to exit the garage every 2 hours and re-enter again.

I was charged $15 for parking at MIAMI BEACH PARK LENOX MIAMI BEACH FL 17347. The attendant said there was a sign posted stating that "those who arrived after 11:00PM would be charged," but there was not a sign. I also did not arrive after 11:00PM. When I tried to speak with the gentleman, he became agitated and screamed at me, "Do you want to back up and I will READ THE SIGN TO YOU?" This was a lapse in judgment on behalf of this attendant's behavior. I felt uncomfortable asking for a refund from the gentleman as he seemed perhaps unbalanced to a degree. I reported this matter immediately to miamibeachfl.gov through the "Want To Contact Us?" portal and reported it again closer to the high holidays. I have not yet heard anything.

Parking in Miami

Downtown Miami is home to many national and international companies, let alone tourists, so parking can really be an issue.

Parking in Miami can be not only hard to find, but also expensive. The average hourly rate in downtown Miami is $7.00. To park for 24 hours at a lot or garage, you will have to pay between $28.00 and $30.00.

Monthly parking, however, is not too expensive with an average cost of around $110 per month.

On-street parking is managed by Miami Parking Authority. There are over 9,000 on-street spots in Miami whose rates vary between $0.75 to $1.50 per hour. Most of the coin-based meters are already replaced by meters that accept coins, credit and debit cards and, in some locations, dollar bills. You also have an option to pay for parking using the Pay-by-Phone app.

You can also find more detailed parking maps for the following locations: Port of Miami, Sun Life Stadium, Miami International Airport.

All the information regarding paying or appealing a parking ticket can be found by contacting the Parking Violations Bureau.
