Parking in Milwaukee

Milwaukee is well known as the City of Festivals. Given the number of visitors that attend Summerfest or the Wisconsin State Fair every year, parking can get tricky, particularly around event venues. The following information is provided to give you a head start before you go looking for parking in Milwaukee.

There’s a good chance that you might be looking for parking at the following attractions while in Milwaukee: the Summerfest grounds, the Marcus Amphitheater, Centennial Hall or General Mitchell International Airport.

There are many lots and garages in downtown Milwaukee. The average hourly rate is $4.00 and the average daily rate is $15.00. Long-term parking is $100.00-$125.00 per month for an unreserved space and you can expect to pay upwards of $150.00 per month for a reserved space.

Rates for on-street parking will differ depending on location, ranging from $0.25 to $1.50 per hour. Meters in Downtown and 3rd Ward area also have maximum stay restrictions in place.

Unless you have a night parking permit, you cannot park on Milwaukee streets between 2am to 6am Monday through Saturday.

If you don’t want to spend money on parking downtown, you can also leave your car for free at one of the Milwaukee park and ride locations.

Follow the instructions on the city of Milwaukee website to see how to pay or dispute a parking ticket.
