Dishonest and shady place. Would not recognize the payment I made through SpotHero even though they are listed there. They physically blocked me from leaving until I paid them an extra $40. Do not park here.

PLEASE READ BEFORE LEAVING YOUR CAR HERE. Before you waste your time and bring your car here please reconsider. First, you are meet by a security guard who very rudely tells you to pop your trunk. After opening you trunk he rummages through it to make sure it’s “safe” and slams it down with enough force to make you think he actually paid for the car. Next, no one tells you what to do and only until after you park your car they ask you questions. After parking my car on the second floor they told me that I had to park it again on the 4th. So I had to go get my car again park it and find the fourth floor. After this I left my car with a man who parked it inside the lot. The problem I have with this “business” is that I found a dent on the left side of my car roughly 5 minutes after leaving the lot. The manager named Mikay is not very helpful and has an attitude as I was talking to her on the phone she hung up on me twice. I wanted the peace of mind to know they did not do the damages but they refuse to help.

Parking in Jersey City

There are many parking lots, garages and on-street parking spots in Jersey City, but finding one can be tough.

On-street parkingsigns in Jersey City can be difficult to interpret. To park on the majority of streets for more than 2 hours you’ll need to have a parking permit. For residents of Jersey City this is very convenient, as permits are cheap ($15 per year) and can be bought at the Jersey City Parking Authority. However, non-residents risk a citation if they park for more than a couple of hours in these zones.

Commercial lots and garages charge an average hourly rate of $8.40 and an average rate of $28.00 for 24 hours. Long-term parking varies from $165 to $225 per month.

Take a look at the parking maps for specific districts in Jersey City to find out even more detailed information.

If you don’t want to try your luck at finding parking downtown, you can park at one of the PATH stations and take public transport into the city. This will not only save you from having to find a parking space, but it will also save you some money, as parking at PATH stations is much cheaper than in downtown.

Parking tickets issued in Jersey City can be paid at NJMCdirect.
