Broken. This is a coveted medical facility. Parking is placed near a crowded entrance. It needs a four- to six-deck garage and easy entrance and egress. Get your validation or pay $75.

The credit card machine has been down for at least 3 weeks. Cash only is a real inconvenience as many people don’t carry cash.

As someone who does crowd control for a living, this parking garage makes my skin crawl. The signage is either confusing or non-existent, employees less than helpful, and the entire setup is the most confusing mess of a parking system I have ever encountered. Too bad there are no other real options if you actually need to, you know, use the hospital.

Complete chaos getting into parking garage today. Traffic backed up way down reservoir road waiting to enter garage. No warning at all that one lane at entrance was for valet parking only. So forced to do valet. Whole ordeal over an hour away from visit to loved one!

Be sure to lock your glove compartment and dont leave any money in the ashtray. I have been going back and forth to the hosp for the last 4 mths and had no problems, but today when I got my car I noticed my compartment where I keep change was open and the few dollars I had in there were gone and the items in my trunk were rearranged as if someone went thru it. I know this because I am a stickler for organization so I know when something is out of place. I informed the parking manager and was told my next visit will be free. I will see if this holds up at my next visit.

Rude. Simple question asked on exit response was you "didn't see the sign". Just wanted help and had been directed that way by another attendant. There mission for whole person care doesn't apply to parking.

The worst experience ever! I wasn’t given a validation stamp so I was charged $75.00 to park for 3 hours. And no one let me in on this detail when I parked, clearly this is how they scam you out of money. Completely absurd and disgusting experience.

Parking in Washington DC

Being the capital of the United States, Washington attracts millions of visitors every year. If you happen to be one of them, check out the following guidelines designed to help you with finding parking in Washington DC.

Parking in Washington is plentiful but you’re looking for cheap parking in DC, downtown is definitely not the place to find it. The average hourly rate for public parking is $9-$10 and if you need parking for 24 hours, be prepared to pay upwards of $35. Monthly parking costs around $250 per month.

You may also be interested in the following parking maps that will give you an idea of how much you’ll be paying for parking at Verizon Center, Union Station, National Mall, Dulles International Airport, or near major sightseeing places such as Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial Park or Museum of Natural History.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) manages approximately 18,000 on-street parking spots in DC. There are two parking zones in Washington DC:

  • Premium demand zone: $2.30/hour. Meters are enforced 7am-10pm, Mon-Sat.
  • Normal demand zone: $2.30/hour. Meters are enforced 7am-6:30pm, Mon-Sat.

Though it might look expensive, the hourly rate in premium and normal demand zones is lower than the average on-street rate in other major US cities where rates can start at $3.00.

Motorcycle parking costs $0.25/hour citywide.

Remember the ‘Washington-parking-rule-of-thumb’: avoid parking during rush hour and read the parking signs carefully!
