The high number of guests that utilize the 30 minutes of free parking but manage to go over by 1 or 2 minutes is exactly what the valet company is counting on. It jumps from $0 to $17 even if u leave the lot 31 minutes after entering. And it’s going to take at least that long to check into the hotel due to their consistent long lines. And don’t count on the Marriott to help you out of the garage once you learn that the parking attendant is so anxious to take your $17 for going over the 30 minutes. They will insist that the valet parking is a 3rd party- not the Marriott. Then how did the rude parking attendant know my full itinerary? Time to rethink the offensive nature of overcharging guests for temporary parking while they check in to the hotel. Make it free for 1 hour. Give people adequate time to handle their business inside the hotel and adjust the next tier to a reasonable fee.
