Parking in Atlanta
Parking is a constant concern for the fast-growing city of Atlanta. Here’s all you need to know before you go looking for a parking spot in Atlanta.
There are over 2,500 on-street spaces in Atlanta. Most of them charge $2.00 per hour. Single space meters accept quarters, dimes and nickels. New multi-space meters accept coins, bills and cards (Visa, MasterCard). On-street parking can be limited to 30 minutes, 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours. The hours of enforcement vary based on zones:
- Business and Government zone: Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 7 pm, 2 hrs max.
- Mixed use zone: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, 3 hrs max.
- School and University zone: Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 7 pm, 3 hrs max.
- Entertainment, Restaurant and Hospital zones: Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 10 pm, 4 hrs max.
Off-street parking is abundant; an hour costs $5.00 on average, and $14.00 for 24 hours.
