Parking in Indianapolis

Indianapolis parking is convenient and affordable and there are more than 72,500 parking spaces for you to park in! You can choose between parking on a street for a short period of time or, if you plan to leave your car for more than just a couple of hours, it will be cheaper to find a garage or a parking lot.  

Garages and lots in Indianapolis charge $4-$6 per hour with special rates for early bird or evening parking. Parking structures outside the core of downtown are much cheaper and might cost you as little as $3 per day!

On-street parking

There are two on-street zones in Indianapolis:

• Meters in the heart of the downtown area operate Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 9 pm and charge $1.50 per hour.
• Meters outside of downtown operate Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 8 pm and charge $1.00 per hour.

All parking meters accept payments by coin, credit card and phone.

Paying or contesting a parking citation can be done within 7 days, either online, by phone or by email.
