Am not happy about having to pay to park at this place since our taxes should cover this. Especially the boat ramp where it is not useable and the docks are not in the water half of the time. The maintenance is not done but you charge as if it was a useable place. The fees from fishing licences were put in place to maintain a public boat launch but this place is not maintained even with the extra charges. Why are the charges expected when it is rarely maintained as a useable launch. It seems ridiculous that if one wants buy a season pass it is only good at Miller Park and Garcia Bend. And then Discovery Park is not included, as that launch is better maintained and useable most of the year. What do our taxes cover, it seems we pay more and more for less services only to get charged on top of it all . What is next community parks are going to charge to let your child play in a playground, or even take a walk around them.

Please note that there is heavy silt at the waters edge causing a n immediate build up of sand silt of 6" in 2' of water travel distance. 4 wheel drive only or you will never pull out of the silt. Use extreme caution when launching here as the silt build up on the cement ramps gets thick within 2-3 feet from the waters edge.

Parking in Sacramento

Sacramento can be really congested at times and unless you’re prepared, finding a parking space can be tough. Here is some advice regarding parking in the City of Sacramento and how much it will cost.

Commercial lots and garages in downtown Sacramento charge $4 per hour with a maximum of $21 per day. Look for early bird rates and commuter specials available at downtown garages for cheaper parking! Monthly parking is $130, which is pretty cheap compared to the daily rates at some garages. If you are the proud owner of an EV, you can qualify for special EV vehicle monthly rates.

Sacramento on-street meters accept coins as well as credit or debit cards, depending on the meter type.

  • Short-term meters allow you to stay for a maximum of one hour and cost $1.25
  • Long-term meters have different rates and time limits. These include $3 for 3 hours, $5 max for 4 hours, $5 max for 8 hours and $3 max for 10 hours, $6 max for 10 hours, all depending on the exact location.

To get a better idea regarding parking options in the following Sacramento locations, check out these parking maps: Sacramento International Airport, The Convention Center Complex, The Capitol Mall, the Midtown neighborhood.
