Parking in Ann Arbor, MI

Ann Arbor is the home of the main campus of the University of Michigan System.

Ann Arbor parking on Saturdays from August to December can be hard to find, but during the rest of the year, parking can be reasonably priced and relatively easy to find.

Many spots owned by the University are open and free on the weekends, but one has to look at the posted signs in the lots/structures for specific information, as some lots are still permit only.  All parking structures and surface metered spots are free on Sundays, and there are many spots to choose from.

In July, around the time of the Ann Arbor Art Fair and the Top of The Park Festivals, parking will be hard to find, and any available spots may be pricey.  During periods in which parking may be hard to find, the University Bus system and the Ann Arbor Area Transit System are reasonable choices.  The University buses are free to all riders, while the AATA buses have a reasonable fare, and they are free for students at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University.
