My car was towed for because I applied for my placard late. It was 5 days late. They choose to tow. The sign says it's a $250.00 fine. Nothing on ihe sign states they will tow. They towed which cost $425.00. My 91 year old disabled father was with me. This is out a outrage.

Parking in San Jose

San Jose is a growing city, whose technological boom earned it the nickname “Capital of Silicon Valley”. Regardless of its technological progress though, finding parking in San Jose remains the same age-old problem that is affecting other major cities. We hope the following information will make your visit to the city easier.

On-street meters charge $1 per hour. They are enforced from 9AM to 6PM, Mon-Sat, except for the Little Italy district, where meters are enforced 9AM-10PM every day. Meters accept coins and cards.

Multi-space meters near the Convention Center and the SAP Arena charge between $5 and $25. These meters accept coins, bills and cards.

Off-street parking rates are between $3-$5/1 hour. Rates for 24 hour parking vary even greater. They can be as low as $6 and as high as $30, but the average price is around $20. Make sure to compare the prices on Parkopedia to improve your chances of finding a good deal.

Monthly parking fees range between $100-$150 in the downtown area.

The city also has around 50 electric vehicle charging stations most of which are located in parking garages.

Whether you wish to park at the City Hall garage or at the Convention Center, our maps will provide you with all the information you might require, including working hours, prices, etc.

Make sure you read all the parking signs and follow all the rules to avoid getting a ticket.

You can visit the city’s official site in case of questions regarding ticket/citation payment.
