They snapped my emergency parking break and it's going to cost me $500 to fix. Don't park here!

Told me my non-SUV was too big, had to pay an extra $10. SpotHero didn't think it was too big when I gave the details. I took that car because it said the minivan would cost more. Guy at the lot wouldn't even talk about it, just walked away from me leaving me there wondering what was going on. Would never park here again. Don't recommend.

is is the worst parking garage ever. The worst employees ever, the most horrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. As you see I booked on ParkWhiz. I live way east on Long Island. I arrived with my family with an infant and a toddler with me and my wife. We arrived and at the entrance a man started flagging me no to move further. I told him I have a pass paid for he said we don’t have a spot for a suv I again replied I actually paid extra $10 for my suv. He said let me ask he did then start waving with his hands to come forward to the parking garage I did. Then at the booth under the building another man tells me ok we will take you but you have to pay an extra $20 because you have suv I said yes I do but I also paid for it. So I don’t need to pay any extra fees. He said no on the website is not true and he doesn’t care either I pay or I get out. I said that’s then a scam it’s not about the $20 it’s about how could you do this when I paid

Parking in New York

New York is one of the busiest and most densely populated cities in the US. Parking rates in NYC are one of the highest in the country. Here are some ideas on how to survive when looking for a place to park in New York.

Commercial garages in Manhattan charge $12-$18 per hour and can go up as high as $55 per 24 hours (SUVs and oversized vehicles are charged additional fees). It’s a good idea to look for early bird and overnight specials or coupons for discounted parking!

A good alternative is to park in the suburbs and then take public transport to downtown:

On-street parking

On-street parking in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island is $1 per hour, while on-street meters in Manhattan charge from $1.50 to $6 per hour, depending on the area. Meters take quarters and credit cards.

On-street rates in PARK-Smart areas will vary depending on the time of day and demand.

On-street signage can be confusing. Check the NYC parking regulations, so that you don’t get a pricey ticket.
