Used this garage while attending a college basketball game at Barclays. When I arrived to pick up my car, the attendant very casually dropped that she hit my car against one of their parking racks, leaving a large dent on the side. She said that they have a mechanic that they could have fix it, or they would pay for the repair. Being that I am from Pennsylvania, I had to go home and try have them pay for the repair. They filled out an incident report, did not provide a copy of the report, and told me that the manager would call me by noon the following day. I did not receive a call and the manager did not answer my phone call. I did receive an email within the next couple days. After the "investigation", they said that they could send me a check for $150. This was not enough for the repair and not even enough to cover my deductible for my insurance company. They were not willing to increase that amount either, so I was stuck paying more out of my own pocket for an issue that I did not cause, and taking the $1

Parking in New York

New York is one of the busiest and most densely populated cities in the US. Parking rates in NYC are one of the highest in the country. Here are some ideas on how to survive when looking for a place to park in New York.

Commercial garages in Manhattan charge $12-$18 per hour and can go up as high as $55 per 24 hours (SUVs and oversized vehicles are charged additional fees). It’s a good idea to look for early bird and overnight specials or coupons for discounted parking!

A good alternative is to park in the suburbs and then take public transport to downtown:

On-street parking

On-street parking in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island is $1 per hour, while on-street meters in Manhattan charge from $1.50 to $6 per hour, depending on the area. Meters take quarters and credit cards.

On-street rates in PARK-Smart areas will vary depending on the time of day and demand.

On-street signage can be confusing. Check the NYC parking regulations, so that you don’t get a pricey ticket.
