There is no big sign letting you know they are close after 3pm on Sunday. (Yes, the website does after I searched for it after the incident). If your are not there on time, they will lockup your car inside the garage. The cop will not be able to do anything about it. The parking garage hides the number and does not answer. Short story, we had to came back the next day and paid double the amount when they opened ($30). Plus the fees leaving Detroit and coming back. I'm from a place where they don't lock your car in parking garage and let you leave when you pay.

Parking In Detroit

Detroit is the heart of the American automobile industry and it provides plenty of parking lots, garages and on-street parking spots for all those cars!

On-street parking is enforced 7AM-10PM, Mon-Sat. Parking meters charge $1 per hour which you can pay with coins or a credit card and the maximum stay is limited to 2 hours.

Downtown Detroit also has plenty of off-street garages and lots. The average rate for hourly off-street parking is around $5 and 24-hour parking can cost upwards of $20, even though some surface lots offer daily parking for less than 10 bucks. Monthly parking costs $100 on average, though there are locations where rates can be as low as $60-80.

Our parking maps provide all the information drivers need including prices, opening hours and other information for all downtown locations including Detroit Opera Housethe Fox Theater and Ford Field.

You can check out the city’s official website for any questions about on-line ticket payments.
