easy to get to your event for most major theaters, if you have been here once before and know your way around a little. First timers or perpetually lost people might not have as easy a go.

Honestly this parking lot is terrible. If you plan on parking here for an event in the theatre district you better about an hour early. Pulling into the nearest parking entrance by your venue guarantees that you will NOT park anywhere it. Therefore you will always be forced to walk 6 to 8 blocks to get to your venue once you walk up to the ground level from the underground lot. Many times I have ended up on the other side of a building from my venue and, due to the completely unorganized and confusing underground workings of this parking garage, it is easy to be completely disoriented once reaching the surface. Parking in Houston

There’s plenty of parking in Houston – around 250 lots and garages and more than 2,000 on-street spaces in downtown alone. The hard part, however, is actually finding an empty parking spot in Houston!

With such a high demand, Houston downtown parking can be expensive. Some garages charge very high rates especially during the evenings or on event days. Downtown rates can go up to $30 for 24 hours.

If you want to pay less for parking, consider leaving your car at a lot on the outer edge of the city and walking or taking the public transport to downtown afterwards (METRORail or METRO bus).

On-street parking is enforced Monday-Saturday from 7am to 6pm, parking is free after 6pm, and all day Sunday. Pay stations enforce time limits ranging from 2 to 10 hours of maximum stay.

Please keep in mind that some metered areas become tow away zones on weekdays between 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm so, remember to read the parking signs carefully.

Anticipating your needs, Parkopedia has information on Parking in downtown Houston, a visitors’ Parking map of University of Houston, a HOBBY Parking page for frequent travelers and much more!
