Witnessed six cars being broken into right after we paid $40 and parked there. This was at 1pm with multiple people around. Not safe at all!

the machine at this parking lot is carzy! it ate our 30$ and gave a refund slip. but there is no operator or office here to return the money.

Be careful when parking here. There is no attendant. The machine took our money and printout a refund slip which you can't get a refund anywhere. When calling the number on the post you will only get automated machine. Called the local office will only get to voicemail.and no one will return your call.Pier 35 employee and pier 39 information office told is that we were not the only one. It happen a lot.

My car got busted into and my stuff got stolen

I hate this parking! Super expensive, and the entrance can easily be missed if cars happen to be entering or exiting (which is all the time). I ended up entering from the Embarcadero OVER THE SIDEWALK to get in.

Parking in North Beach (San Francisco)

As is the case with the rest of San Francisco, parking in North Beach can be a nightmare!

The majority of residential streets in North Beach are 2 hour parking 8am - 9pm (except  Sundays and residents). The 2 hour limit that extends all the way to 9pm combined with the shortage of space on streets makes free parking in North Beach a challenge, especially for non-residents. Be sure to check the parking meter for days and times as some meters do require payment on Sundays.

There are a number of commercial parking garages serving North Beach. Garages along The Embarcadero serve a lot of tourist areas such as Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf and can be quite expensive, especially without validation.
