Aug 25, 2022

On August 20,2022, this garage did not honor the reservation that my friend reserved online, saying that the “lot was full.” Understanding that, we asked for a refund but the valet kept telling us that the “lot was full” but we were asking for a refund. The Valet worker there was not courteous, disorganized, mean, and rude. We had to call customer service in the garage because he did not want to give a refund after chasing him around the garage.

Parking in Jersey City

There are many parking lots, garages and on-street parking spots in Jersey City, but finding one can be tough.

On-street parkingsigns in Jersey City can be difficult to interpret. To park on the majority of streets for more than 2 hours you’ll need to have a parking permit. For residents of Jersey City this is very convenient, as permits are cheap ($15 per year) and can be bought at the Jersey City Parking Authority. However, non-residents risk a citation if they park for more than a couple of hours in these zones.

Commercial lots and garages charge an average hourly rate of $8.40 and an average rate of $28.00 for 24 hours. Long-term parking varies from $165 to $225 per month.

Take a look at the parking maps for specific districts in Jersey City to find out even more detailed information.

If you don’t want to try your luck at finding parking downtown, you can park at one of the PATH stations and take public transport into the city. This will not only save you from having to find a parking space, but it will also save you some money, as parking at PATH stations is much cheaper than in downtown.

Parking tickets issued in Jersey City can be paid at NJMCdirect.
